Problem: As a specialist machining centre, Waters Scientific Manufacturing Division in Birmingham required storage and transit trays to protect high precision machined components for laboratory instruments.
How Columbus helped: We provided a combination of standard and bespoke work-in-progress, storage and transit trays for the new components.

Using key measurements, we checked each component against our comprehensive library of standard trays. The search looked for trays with suitable cavity shapes, sides and number of impressions to suit Waters batch manufactory sizes. For bespoke solutions we used Solid Works to develop 3D model drawings. The trays needed to be developed to be a specific footprint, stackable and have a lid at the top of the stack.
